Gardening Program Slated for February 18

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY - Do you want to grow fresh vegetables and just do not have the space? Did you or do you grow a garden and just want to learn more about gardening? If so, the Muhlenberg County Cooperative Extension Service may just have the program for you.

The Muhlenberg County Cooperative Extension Service will be hosting two gardening programs on Thursday, February 18, 2010. The first program will be held at the Muhlenberg County Cooperative Extension Service office located just off the HWY 189 Bypass in front of the Agriculture and Convention Center and will begin at 2:00 p.m.

There will be a repeat of the program at 6:00 p.m. if we have enough people interested. The 6:00 p.m. session will be held at the Central City Housing Authority meeting room located at 511 South 9th Street in Central City.

Topics include soil testing, container gardening and raised beds, intercropping, succession planting, cultural practices in the garden, as well as harvest and storage tips. Please contact the Muhlenberg County Cooperative Extension Service at 270-338-3124 by Friday, February 12, 2010 to preregister and be sure and mention which session you will be attending.
